RubyConf Mini will take place in historic Providence, RI. About one hour outside of Boston, Providence has a thriving arts community, vibrant and diverse neighborhoods, and a renowned restaurant scene. Providence combines the accessibility and friendliness of a small town with the culture of a big city, making it the perfect venue for the first ever RubyConf Mini.
Fun fact: Rhode Island is the smallest U.S. state!
Both the conference venue and accomodations will be located at the Omni Hotel Providence, where we have secured a block of rooms for $149 per night.
If you plan to travel by airplane, we recommend either flying directly into Providence or flying to Boston and taking the train to Providence.
From Boston Logan airport, you can take the free Silver Line Bus to South Station. From there, there are two ways to take the train from Boston to Providence:
You can purchase Amtrak tickets online in advance of your trip, or buy a Commuter Rail ticket when you arrive at South Station. Both options take about an hour.
If you’re traveling by train, Amtrak's Northeast Regional Train line (stops including Washington, DC; Philadelphia, PA; New York, NY; Boston, MA) travels directly to Providence.
The train station in Providence is a ten minute walk from the conference hotel.
We will also offer to connect attendees who are looking to carpool from Boston.
